PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE – STUDENT PLACEMENT SCHEME
It is important that Students have the opportunity to put their theoretical learning into practice during their training because it is with this application of knowledge that the ‘real’ learning takes place.
They need to be able to develop their skills and demonstrate growth in competency and confidence. To do this, The Nanny Centre is reliant upon families (Auckland wide) who have two or more children at home during week days and who would like to participate in the Student professional development to offer their home as a supportive learning environment. We also welcome families who have children with special needs.
For Level 3 Students the placements are two weeks duration and the Student is expected to attend 40 hours per week.
For Level 5 Students the placements are two or three weeks duration.
There is a Commitment document that needs to be completed and signed by any parent requesting to take part in the Student Placement Scheme.
