IDENTIFICATION CARDS
All students are photographed at the start of the course and then issued with Tertiary Student ID cards which can be used to obtain student concessions.
I.T. AND LIBRARY
In the Centre’s Library there are two computers and a printer with internet access for student use. There are specialist library books, videos and DVDs with Powerpoint on site and Nanny Centre students also have access to Library facilities at the nearby Polytechnic.
EATING FACILITIES
The Nanny Centre has excellent Tea/Coffee making facilities and appliances for storing, preparing and heating lunches. The kitchen and indoor lunchroom are adjoined by ranch sliders to a private and spacious patio and garden area so students may eat either indoors or outdoors as preferred.
PERSONAL SERVICES
The Nanny Centre has an experienced and caring Student Liaison Officer (Pastoral Care Officer for International students) available for guidance whether it be for course related or personal issues. The Director is also available to students and a phone service outside of normal training hours is provided for assistance. There is provision for referral as well to other specialist services should they be required.
LOCAL AREA FACILITIES
The Nanny Centre is situated in the heart of Manukau City, within easy walking distance of two main shopping complexes and only a few minutes car/bus ride from Manukau City shopping centre itself. These shopping areas cater to meet all needs within the local multi ethnic community.
There are also a wide range of recreational activities within the area – swimming pools (indoor and outdoor), movie theatres, theme park and ten pin bowling to name a few. There are also within the greater Manukau area lovely beaches, botanical gardens and sports venues for those who enjoy outdoor pursuits.
END OF COURSE CELEBRATION
Each class has a formal completion of course celebration where certificates are presented and a class photo taken. Dress is semi-formal. It is a time for family and friends to share with students their achievements. There is a cover charge for all attending except students whose costs are covered by The Nanny Centre.
EMPLOYMENT
Unique to The Nanny Centre is its own Employment Bureau where students and graduates are assisted in gaining work that best suits their requirements and talents.
The Bureau Staff are dedicated professionals who have a working knowledge of the industry and they are qualified and experienced in both the nanny and recruitment fields.
